Breast Cancer Incidence Rates in GA

The National Cancer Institute and the CDC developed a database with information on various types of cancer, areas in the country, demographics and statistic measurements. The map below shows age-adjusted incidence rates of breast cancer in Georgia from years 2011 to 2015, per 100,000 population.  The demographic of focus is females, 50 years of age and less, of all races.

Cancer rates decrease nationwide, but cancer clusters still persist.

CNN reports that cancer rates have decrease from 1980, but there are still certain areas where cancer clusters are prevalent. This map is very interesting in that it can help jump-start more conversations about environmental facts that could be playing a huge role in the incidence of cancer.
