Opioid usage has become a country wide epidemic with overdose rates consistently increasing. Not only are the overdose rates increasing, but the rate of physicians overprescribing those same opioids is on the rise. Could the problem also be the solution? Though your friendly street and online dealers pose a threat to individuals selling them the real and or the fake, the biggest culprit may be the healthcare physician. Overprescribing multitudes of opioids keeps the individuals coming back for more. Will the practice of physicians monitoring and decreasing their prescriptions decrease and end our opioid epidemic?
