What is REAL Certified Food?

Ever wonder what it means when you read REAL on a food product while grocery shopping. Terms such as organic, local, grass-fed and cage-free all fall under the REAL umbrella. REAL is an acronym that stands for responsible, epicurean, agricultural and leadership. It is a certification launched this year by the United States Healthful Food Council. Unlike the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s organic certification, REAL has a broader scale level and focuses on nutrition and sustainable best practices.
