Access to Grocery Stores

Did someone say food desert?

Accessibility to grocery stores, from a public health perspective, is very important. A grocery store could mean access to affordable and healthy foods in the community. The two maps above detail the percentage of households in the United States that have low access to grocery stores. The second map visually represents which areas suffer from low access to grocery stores AND have no car to travel around for other alternatives.
