GIS Helps Dartmouth Atlas Influence Healthcare

Darthmouth Health Inst. Screen Shot

The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice has collected the largest non-governmental set of Medicare data in the United States.  This data measures trends in hospitalization rates, ambulance use and medication use. The data gets pretty specific such as specific hospitals and subsets of the population with advanced cancer or chronic when looking at medication use.

The institute is working on two projects: examining data on pediatric care and examining how surgery falls in to treatment plans.

For more information, read the full article here and check out the institute’s website.
