GIS use in locating the uninsured in Texas

According to the American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, there were 5.7 million Texans, nearly a quarter of the state’s population, who didn’t have health insurance in 2010.

An interactive map has been developed from the American Community Survey data to locate uninsured population.

The map shows the percentage of the population in Texas cities without health insurance in 2010.
