New Jersey Online Lead Safe Housing Registry

Lead, a highly toxic metal, can cause a range of health problems, especially in young children. The United States banned lead paint in 1977, but houses built before that year may still have lead-based paint, leaving residents vulnerable to lead poisoning.

Lead poisoning is a serious but preventable health problem and it is important for home owners to know if their home is considered lead-free or if it has been permanently abated. VERTICES developed a map of New Jersey documenting lead safe housing in the entire state of New Jersey.
