Launched yesterday, complaints to the city’s 311 system are now searchable by street address in an online map. Before residents could input concerns about traffic light outages, garbage, graffiti and ice for some time, but they were only aggregated by ZIP Code. The 311 system, which gets some 60,000 complaints a day, became overloaded the day it launched these new changes.
Now, the complaints are searchable via a map in 15 categories. Complaints lodged within the past three months about everything from lack of heat to animal waste can be mapped by street address, intersection, ZIP code and category.
