Geographer/Statistician, (CRS, III) – The City Research Scientist III (CRS III), with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, will work under the direction of the Director of the Methods Unit of the Bureau of Epidemiology Services. The CRS III will provide technical expertise in spatial analyses, spatial demography, small-area estimation, and geography. The person will be expected to apply relevant methods from the Statistics, Geography, and Demography literature to a wide variety of public health projects. The CRS III will be expected to disseminate their research through conference presentations and peer and peer-reviewed publications.

Regional Health Hazard Vulnerability Analysis Technical Project Manager – The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR) was created after 9/11 to coordinate the agency’s emergency preparedness and response activities to ensure the public’s health in emergency events. OEPR is looking for a hands-on Technical Project Manager to plan, configure, implement, and maintain a Regional Public Health Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and supporting Geographic Information System (GIS) based decision support system for its Regional Health Vulnerability Analysis Project. The position is grant funded for one year with the possibility of renewal.
