The State of Hawaii has deployed a web-based flood hazard assessment tool. Development of the initial application, called the Flood Hazard Assesment Tool (FHAT), began in 2007. Its purpose was to be a powerful tool for flood risk management, insurance activities, and disaster operations. Now the system is evolving, most recently with the incorporation of an Elevation Certificate (EC) tool.
